Lexis and Emeline Creations

Lexis and Emeline has started a new project... with a little help from me their Mother. "Lexis and Emeline Creations." We decided to make a little money on the side and create beautiful hand-made hair accessories. It is very fun and the girls are loving it.

Their work can be found on facebook. We'd love it if you'd stop by "like" us and please share this with all of your friends.

Here is a few of the pieces.

We have so much fun bonding and making fun items! If you get a chance stop by facebook and check us out!

Donating her Beautiful Blonde Locks.

Lexis decided to cut her hair and donate it to "Pantene Beautiful lengths." She came up with this all by herself. I am SUPER proud of her for thinking of other's. Pantene makes wigs for women who have lost their hair due to cancer. The great thing is the give them to the women free of charge.

We ended up cuting 8 inches off. She looks so good with the new cut.

All About the New Year!

Lexis is growing SO tall. Her passion this very moment is Cheerleading. I am SUPER proud of her. I know how hard it can be to take life by the horns and run, run, run! She got an e-reader for Christmas this year. She loves to read. This is something kinda new to her. I really think the Twilight books have started this fasination with her.

Lexis has a very tender heart. She loves to sew and is getting quite good at it. Her specialty is blankets. She made one for her baby cousin and he loves it.

She got her third phone for Christmas. It is a touch screen. She was happy to say the least! She's had a phone for almost three years now.

Lexis lost her hampster a few months ago. (It lived in her room for almost a year.) She was devastated so we let her get another one. She got a 'deal' on a bigger hampster. He is not one you can hold as I found out when he bit all the way through my hand :) She loves it though!

See her silly side...

As I said she LOVES Cheering! This is Football Cheering...

Boys Basketball Cheering. Ava even got in on cheering and asked if I'd make her a cheerleading costume! Ava loves her sister :)

So being a Mother that was a Cheerleader you know how excited I am about her loving this Sport as well as I did! I couldn't be more proud of what a wonderful person Lexis is turning out to be!

Her grades are all above C actually I believe she only had one C last report card and the rest were A's and B's. School seems to be getting a little easier for her. My Lex... what a little lady she truly is!

Notice anything new about Lex? Okay let me tell you. She just got new glasses. She looks so much older. We are in the hospital right now with Ava. She is staying with grandma H. We miss her so much. She is such a wonderful young lady. She just finished grade school and will be going to Middle school in the fall. Oh how time flies.

This is the girls the other day when they came up to see Ava.

Missing Lexis

We are at the University due to complication with Ava. I hate being away from the girls. They adjust very well. They are staying with Grandpa and grandma D today then will be going to Grandma Karen’s tonight.

A recent picture of Lexis. I needed a model for my photography she wasn’t interested but I did get this shot.

We did just go to the park Friday night and I got these shots.

Lexis if you are reading this know that I love you so much and that your sister will be better soon. I’m sorry that it has to be like this……I guess when your sister was born with congenital diaphragmatic hernia this was just how it all has to come down. You are the best big sister ever and Ava loves you a lot. Sadly it hurts all of us. Love you lots.

New Do?

Lexis was insistant on making me put overnight curlers in her hair. So after much persuasion I agreed. I explained to her that she would get LOTS of curl. She was ready!

Here is the results in the morning.

Much to my surprise she MADE it work. She pulled it back and made an awesome new style, without my help. SO when Miss Lexis has something in her mind she HAS SOMETHING IN MIND!

Oh did I mention that was Sunday night I put the curlers in? She still hasn't washed her hair and it is Thursday. Yes that is another one of MY children!

Stopping to pose.

Lexis is always helping around the house. IF I ask her to feed the dog or do the dishes she rarely complains but jumps right to it. Okay with the exception of the dishes today! ;)

Ask Lex what she wants to be when she grows up and she will say, "a nurse!" Here is Lexis stopping to strike a pose. (Notice what is around her neck.)

She is learning a few French songs in Shakacon. How fun!

Lexis minus her tonsils.

This was before surgery as you can tell!

So the day after Christmas Lexis had her tonsils out. It went a lot better than I expected. She was very calm and actually excited about the surgery. I think she was most happy about having "room service". Funny girl, what she forgot to think about was that she couldn't eat much liquids and soft foods only! So since pictures are worth 1,000 words here they are.

Again before surgery in her room before going to the waiting room.

This is Dr. Lyons talking to Lex before her surgery. He is so funny!

Group photo before they took her off to surgery. Grandma Helmick, Grandma Diercks, Lexis and Me.

Lexis is smiling just minutes before getting put under.

It will all be over soon Lex.

Here is what they took out. Uhhhh!

Lexis waking up in recovery. My poor Lex. I knew how she felt....MISERABLE.

She attempted to eat about 3 hours after surgery. Opps it didn't stay down. Second times a charm, right?

Her room mate was also having her tonsils removed too. Well after about 3 hours she wanted to go home. Lexis ears perked up and asked me if she could go home too. WE asked the nurse and she said, "Sure if you are feeling okay." She jumped up and then that is when she got sick. So we stayed about another 2 hours then she was discharged. This was when Heather took out her IV.

When we got home I gave her another dose of her pain medicine. It made her very sick so we decided to stick to Tylenol and Motrin. She has very little pain which is very good! She has been playing her guitar hereo she got for Christmas. That sure takes her mind off it all!

Christmas Time!

So wow I can't believe it is Christmas time. Lexis sang really good in her choir a few weeks ago. I was extremely proud of her. I remember being her age and singing in choir as well and now here I am as a Mother watching her do the same thing! She has an amazing voice!

So this year it is a toss up between, "Is Santa real or not?" Huh this Mom is staying out of that! Lexis is really excited about Christmas and is thrilled with how many presents she sees under the tree.

I hope you all have a Very Merry Christmas!

The Bithday Party!

So we had Lexis's party at Gator's restaurant. She had one of her friends come and spend the night. Since her sister Emeline's birthday is the day after hers we normally just lump the parties together. It was a nice family celebration. Here are a few pictures of her party!

Wow it is so hard to believe how fast she is growing up. Lexis is very picky with her clothes. I sometimes get frustrated with her but I have to stop and remember she needs to be who she is! The teenage years are just around the corner!
